Our Treatments
Ombre Brows
‘Ombre’ is a permanent makeup style that is designed to create a soft, gradient effect on the eyebrows. A machine is used to softly shade the brow, which will disperse into the skin creating gentle powdered effect. The front of the brow appears lighter and transition to a darker shade towards the tail. Ombre brows are perfect for a softer ‘just tinted’ look or can be built to a deeper makeup effect. Perfect to infill sparse areas, or for those who would like more clean defined finish rather than the fluffier hairstroke look.
Hairstroke ‘Hyper-realism’ Brows
Hairstroke brows, also known as ‘hyper-realism’ brows are created to flow with the natural direction and pattern of your brow growth. We’ll create the pattern to suit your bone structure and brow shape to look natural and timeless. This is created with a machine technique to create hyper-realistic, hair-like lines to mimic the texture of a natural eyebrow. This brow is ideal for those seeking a natural, fuller brow look while addressing issues like sparse, uneven, or missing eyebrow hairs. This method is often compared to microblading, but nano brows are generally considered less invasive, softer, and suitable for more skin types, including oily or sensitive skin. The machine method means we can freely cross over each hair for a blended end result and build density/colour where the hairs would naturally gather. The results are a soft, natural enhancement that blends seamlessly with existing brow hair, or an ultra-natural bespoke brow to give the illusion of brow hairs instead.
Combination Brows
Fusion Brows are a mixture of techniques listed above. Whether its hairstrokes in the front to create a natural feathery effect that blends into a defined powdered tail, or a combination of hairs and shading running all the way through the brow, the blend of techniques we offer can provide a bespoke and refined brow tailored to your needs.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the treatment take?
For brow appointments, 2-3 hours will be booked out. This includes a consultation process, mapping/predraw, the treatment and aftercare. 4-6 weeks later around 1.5 hours will be booked for the top up.
How many sessions will I need?
It is important to remember that though permanent cosmetics is low maintenance, it is not no maintenance. The first treatment is conducted and then a touch up will be performed 4-6 weeks later to reinforce any pigment that may have not retained during the healing process, this is an entirely normal part of the healing process and varies from person to person. Top ups can be done every 12-18 months to refresh the colour.
What should I avoid before the treatment?
- Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen or coumadin for two days before and two days after the treatment. If these are prescription, please do not discontinue before consulting your doctor.
- Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior to the treatment.
- Refrain from using sunbeds and avoid natural sun exposure for 2 weeks before.
- Refrain from waxing at least 48 hours prior to the treatment.
- Avoid tinting or brow lamination for one week prior.
- Avoid any active skincare for at least 2 weeks prior (retinols, AHA’s, BHA’s). Avoid retinol on the brow area for 8 weeks.
What is the aftercare advice?
Surface healing time is usually around 10-14 days however this is dependent on the individual. If your immune system is compromised in any way (such as feeling under the weather) then healing may take slightly longer, aftercare advice includes:
- Clean over the treatment area with cool boiled water on a cotton disc morning and night. The brow area can feel a little bit ‘wet’ in the 48 hours following the treatment as a result of your body’s wound healing response producing lymphatic fluid. Gently blot this away with a clean, dry tissue throughout the day and morning and evening clean the brow area gently but thoroughly, I recommend a ‘press and roll’ technique rather than swiping.
- The treatment area must be kept completely dry in between cleaning. If the area gets wet, pat dry- do not rub.
- Allow the brows to ‘dry’ out and stop producing the lymphatic fluid during the first couple of days. After day 2, apply a thin layer of healing ointment which will be provided to you in your aftercare bag, and use half a pea sized amount (for both brows) dabbed gently over the area.
- Do not expose the treatment area to extreme heat, cold, or moisture for 2 weeks following the treatment. This includes the sun, tanning beds, Jacuzzis, saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools, direct shower spray, hot water, skin creams or ointments other than those provided.
- Do not pick, peel, or scratch the area, this may result in the colour healing unevenly and you could also risk scarring and infection.
- Avoid all hair removal and tinting treatments for two weeks after the procedure.
- Do not apply make-up until 72 hours after the treatment.
- Do not take in any strenuous activity which could result in perspiration, this is because the treatment area can get irritated, and the pigment retention may be affected.
Will you need to remove my brows?
Permanent makeup should never mean that the entire brow is removed. We work with your natural brow shape and keep as much existing brow hair as possible. However, any hairs surrounding the brow post-treatment can be removed to neaten the result. Any hair removal will be discussed prior and entirely consensual, and it will never take place without agreement first. On the rare occasion, we may need to remove some hair from the brow in order to create a new brow shape. An example of this is laterally canted eyebrows, this is where the brow tail is positioned much lower than the front. To lift the brow and provide proportion, the tail of the brow can be removed and recreated.
Does it hurt?
It isn’t a painful treatment – although we can’t guarantee absolutely no discomfort during the treatment, the pigment isn’t applied deep into the skin and it’s extremely rare for us to encounter any bleeding at all, the most you’ll feel is a light scratch, it’s overall a very tolerable treatment. Tweezing your eyebrows often hurts more!
What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup is a procedure where pigment is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin using a needle cartridge and specialist device designed for even and safe pigment implantation with minimal trauma to the skin tissues. It is like a tattoo- but a much gentler version. Once deposited, the pigments I have chosen to work with have been formulated to fade over time to a lighter version of the original healed colour and retain beautifully.
